The 2010 strains from the Ministry of Cannabis

Written by sensi seeds. Posted in Ministry of Cannabis

Ministry of Cannabis is one of the more interesting companies to have emerged from the Dutch scene in the last few years. We chatted with the company manager, Saskia, to get to know more about their future 2010 project, and it’s exciting news. « The catalogue of 2010 is extremely important for us, » explains Saskia, « because for the first time we have taken the regular seeds out of our collection and we have decided to produce and promote only feminized seeds ». She explained how they have gained the knowledge necessary to ensure that every harvest contains only pure feminized seeds. She reveals that not only are the seeds carefully selected and tested regularly, but also that they give customers’ feedback great consideration. « We couldn’t have reached this level of excellence without the help and feedback of our customers, » says Saskia. We asked her about the 2010 catalog and the smile on her face grows. « We have worked hard to be ready for the beginning of 2010, but we want to be sure that when we introduce a new strain, it is something special. » Ministry of Cannabis will introduce three new feminized strains. The first one will be a Skunk, a really early-finishing one, selected from the best clones of Skunk in Amsterdam. The second will be a Sativa-dominant, extra loaded with THC and with a decent flowering time for a Sativa. The third one will be a cross between a super Sativa and a powerful white strain. « We know already the names, but we prefer to keep them to ourselves for a little while, » laughs Saskia. The last step for the 2010 at the Ministry will be the introduction of a second generation of auto-flowering strains, that will replace the actual Little Devil and Little Angel. « These strains are not entirely new, but we have selected new fathers for them, that made them a little bit bigger, but also more stable and productive, » says Saskia. « For this reason, we have selected new names that are reminiscent the old ones ». We can’t wait for next January so we can lay our hand on these new strains and with a little bit of luck, we’ll try them too! visit Ministry of Cannabis

Nepalese Dragon – Ministry of Cannabis – This Nepalese Dragon is a great strain

Written by sensi seeds. Posted in featured, Ministry of Cannabis

This Nepalese Dragon is a great strain. I’ve grown these seeds in the summer 2008 outdoor and it was my first suc¬cessful attempt to get perfectly mature bud in outdoor (in northern Europe). I wanted to try it again in indoor and it was a good choice. The plants stay pretty short (80-90 cm) and compact. I vegetate them 30 days to get this size. The start to show the sex alter 6 days of flowering. The flowering started slow but it accelerated alter 3 weeks, so that the total flowering period was just a lit¬tle more than 8 weeks. Each plant of the 4 that I have was covered with buds from bottom to top, and the buds where covered with crystals. The fan leaves are also covered with crystals, that suggest me that some white strain has been used to make this Nepalese Dragon. They also have dark green leaves, heritage of their Nepalese genes. The high was great since the very first hit, alter just a few days hanging to dry. The taste was initially very harsh, but it clears up in a few weeks. After 3 weeks the taste was muck soft and well balanced, and notes of fruit appears in the aftertaste. The final result was 340 g. For 4 plants, absolutely not bad, for a strain that is really different from everything else that I have tried. visit Ministry of Cannabis Environment: grow room Method: 4 individual plants Medium: soll (Canna Professional +) Nutrient: Biocanna Growing Time: 30 days Flowering Time: 57 days Plant Structure: hybrid, medium size Bud Structure: compact, heavy Scent: earthy with note of fruit Effect: heavily regenerating Yield: more than average

Shanti – Ministry of Cannabis – Cannabis Seeds

As a regular customer of the online Shop of the Ministry of Cannabis, I’ve got these seeds for free in august 2008, with the request to grow them for testing purpose. At that time the narre was still uncertain, and the only things I knew were that it was an average size plant, that flowers in 9 weeks and has a really happy effect. So I decided to honor the gilt and I planted 5 seeds directly in soil (1.5 lt pot). They sprouted all 5, and because I decided to grow only 4 of them, I discarded one after com¬pleting the rooting phase (with the regular use of Canna Ryzothonic). At this stage, after 15 days, the roots took possession of the soil and it was really easy to move the whole block to lt. pots. The vegetation phase was completed in 30 days, the plants were all 35-40 cm tall when I started to flower them. After days the first individual Shows the sex, immedi¬ately followed by the other 3 (they were all female, because I had femi¬nized seeds). The true bud formation started pretty Tate, after almost 3 weeks, but this strain has shown an exceptional flowering vigor during the weeks 3 till 7 of flowering. At the end, the plants were all about 80 cm tall, with the bottom pruned for about 20 cm. Even the lower buds were big and swollen. The main bud was big, but not like other strains that I’ve had in the past. In general the buds are well distributed into the whole plant. I could cut after 9 weeks as they say, but I wanted to wait a cou¬ple of days more. After manicuring, I hanged the plant upside down and I went on holiday. The temperature was extremely low (5-7 degrees cel¬sius) because of a faulty timer. They stay in this conditions for 20 days. This process however, has contribute to give to the smell an exceptional consistence of a fresh flower bou¬quet. The aroma is really Jong last¬ing in the mouth, releasing notes of strawberry. The effect is relaxing and happy, fall but not overpowered. Overall an extremely high quality strain, Bravo Ministry! Carnival Ministry of Cannabis – Grow Report. I got these seeds from an cannabis seed Shop and planted 3 of them

Grow Report. I got these seeds from an online Shop and planted 3 of them. 100% germination in water after 30 hours, I then planted them in soil where they sprouted after 3 days. This strain grows really fast and develops long, fat leaves, with real consistency, making you think that you’re dealing with an Indica rather than a hybrid Sativa dominant. However, the Sativa traits become dominant after a few weeks. The growing phase was really fast, I planned to grow them for 30- 35 days, but then decided to switch from 18/6 to 12/12 after only 25 days, because I needed to keep the general height under a metre. At the change over from vegetation to flowering, I gave them one full day of darkness, as suggested by the guys at the Ministry of Cannabis, so that the plants started to flower faster. I saw the first few pistils after 2 days, and the real flowering was completely visible on all 3 after 8 days. Until that point, the plants required moderate amounts of fertilizer, but after a couple of weeks of flowering, they started to use enormous amounts of it, especially phosphorus. During this stage, I pruned the upper part of each plant, preparing the rest for the final stage. The buds grew very quickly until about the 5th week of flowering. At this stage a huge bud formed on the main stem and another 10 around that, making a lovely cola. The plant used the final weeks to ripen the buds, which became really heavy. At this stage (around day 39 of flowering) I had to introduce a system of strings to support the lateral branches. I harvested the 3 ladies together after 61 days of flowering, a couple of days early, maybe because of the high temperature of my room at that point (it could get as high as 33 Celsius on a daily basis). Cured and dried for 20 days in a small room, then another 15 days in glass jars before testing. The smoke was intense but well-balanced and the first impressions are of berries, preparing your mouth for a long citrus aftertaste. Final impression: One of the best herbs I’ve euer smoked and I got it in less than 3 months with no particular difficulty growing it. I strongly recommended this strain to all my friends!
